This is a sketch/plan for another painting involving the same characters as seen in the earlier two paintings.
![]() Derwog returns back to present his latest creation to his Giant King, while his children are playing with a kite on the palace grounds. Focusing on anatomy, perspective and proportions currently - I am ok with what I have got and I will be working on a cleaned up line art next.

Did not get a lot of time to work on this. But completed the clean flat colors.

Started off laying down some rough hues to render the light/value.
![]() I am quite pleased with how this is turning out.

Nice work as usual Vy.
![]() But I think it looks a little strange the way the little kid is looking away from the kite. It's directly above him, what's he starin' at?

Thanks Steve!
I did think about it for a while in terms of eye direction, and thought it would look too staged to have even the kid looking in the same direction. So this "frame" is when they just started to run around to gain some altitude on the kite. The kid was looking at his sister when he was running along with her, now stops to turn around to look back. :P

A little more work on the girl's shadow area.
![]() Putting those violets/blues in the shadow area seemed weird at first, until I rendered the whole of it.

Rough shading done.
![]() Next, I think I will let go of the lineart layer, up the DPI and start detailing.
