I got myself a Wacom Intuos3 6x11 (http://kalaalog.com/2007/05/25/wacom-intuos3-6x11-graphic-tablet/) about 4 months back, and for digital painting I have been exlusively using it since then. Before that, I used mouse.

I still use mouse when I do other kind of artwork like vector graphics, but for digital painting, I like the flexibility of tablet.

What do you use?

I dont know for how long but i'm in love with my wacom graphire xl. Since ive got the tablet i just auto switch to it when booting photoshop.

To any mouse user i can recomend this. Even if you think its not worth it. IT IS!

Yup - the use of a tablet pen comes quite natural. May be, it is due to the fact that, we as kids are taught to write with a pen than point with a mouse. :P

Yeah - I did have that problem when I was using mouse. You can get the shorter lines to be smooth, but the longer they go, it becomes more hard to get a nice smooth line. They become jagged. It is much more natural to do such strokes with a tablet. :)

I bought Intuos3 right away. :) And that is why I am not sure how better it is from Graphire4.

Once you buy Intuos3, do let us know about your experience in terms of difference between the two. :)

I got myself a nice little Intuos3 9x12 a long time ago and it's the only thing I use for digital painting. It's fast, I love the pressure sensibility, love the pen and the different types of nibs, and I adore the shortcuts.

My downfall is that I leave my mouse on the tablet sometimes, and when I try browsing with my regular ball-mouse, I tend to get stuck because the mouse is on the tablet. :-[

i just have a graphire, and i love it to death when it comes to digital painting and am actually constantly switching back and forth between it and my mouse for digital painting.

Hmmm - you use both.

Well, as days pass, as Dreleen said, I have almost abandoned mouse now. :)
