I've seen him before on CA. He's got quite a different style than any I've seen. Some of his appear to me to not have used sketches though, I feel. I may be wrong.

Steve i found the link in one of the post over at CA, nice forum indeed. Had not seen that forum yet. What a huge community that is.

Yup - ConceptArt is huge and so is CGSociety.

CA is more larger, I feel, towards concept arts. The creators of CA were painters themselves.

And I saw the tutorial, even though he says he made a lot of mistakes. I think from the robot tutorial he has he used a 3D model also.
